My two uncles were 18 and 19 years old when the WWII started. Both of them volunteered to go to the front line to defend their motherland. They went to war at the same time, leaving behind their mother and a little brother (my dad). In 1941 my grandmother had received two letters, at the same time, notifying her of her sons’ death. They were buried in a mass grave … my grandmother was never notified where the grave site was. Even though we could not honor their memory by bring flowers to their grave – they were living and keep living in our hearts.
Dedication: I dedicated my light to my mom and dad who are no longer with me
